Collaborator
Since being in Saint Joseph I have collaborated with several types of people for many reasons. Whether it be working on a play, where everyone from the actor, to the costume designer, and sound operators are important in making the show come to life, to the group projects for AP classes that leaves everyone awake and working until 12 AM for days. However, I have two favorite examples of what my collaboration has created. Last year for the Fall Festival DTASC Competition of Costume Design, I and junior Irina Tchernoskoutova worked together in designing costumes for a sci-fi play. We had decided on doing a Star Wars play but because we wanted to have more women in it, we flipped all the characters genders. It was a wonderfully fun project full of creative ideas to solve problems like how to convert Princess Leia's buns on a man and how to make a human version of R2-D2. While it was stressful I loved being able to let my creativity flow more than I could in other classes and our hard work was rewarded when we got fourth place. Another example of my collaborative works with others is my AP English Literature movie project. We had to design a Paradise Lost movie we would pitch to Ms. Borgonia. This meant making a website, trailer, costume, budget for props and more. I participated in it by coming up with the story, as well as costume design . It was the biggest project I've done to date but in the end it came out beautifully because of the great teamwork of our group.
